Overview
This policy explains how we handle data deletion and retention when you delete your account or request removal of specific data from Cracy.
Deletion Process
When you request account deletion:
- Your account is scheduled for deletion
- A 30-day grace period applies
- During this period, your account access is restricted
After the grace period:
- Your account (authentication data) is deleted
- Your profile information is deleted
- Your account is removed from active systems
- After the grace period, deletion becomes permanent and cannot be reversed.
Data Retention
Some data may be retained after account deletion:
- User-generated content (such as posts, comments, or messages) may be retained and disassociated from your identity
- Backup data may be retained for up to 90 days and is automatically deleted thereafter
- Data may be retained as required for legal compliance, dispute resolution, and platform security
- Anonymized data may be retained indefinitely in aggregated, non-identifiable form
- Retained data is not used for personalized features or advertising after account deletion.
Legal Requirements
We may be required to retain certain information to comply with legal obligations, including:
- Tax and financial records
- Content related to legal proceedings
- Information subject to law enforcement requests
- Data required for regulatory compliance
Anonymized Data
We may retain anonymized, aggregated data that cannot be used to identify you. This data helps us improve our services and understand usage patterns. This data is permanently de-identified and cannot be linked back to your account.
Third-Party Services
Some data may be processed by third-party service providers (such as analytics or cloud services). We take reasonable steps to ensure data is handled in accordance with this policy, but deletion timelines may vary depending on the provider.
Your Rights
You have the right to request deletion of your personal data at any time. We will process your request in accordance with applicable data protection laws, including GDPR and CCPA.
